Pharisees and False Teachers

There is a word that used to have no derogatory meaning but has found its permanent place in  the insults of “Christianese.” Its original meaning referred to a man’s position as an expert adherent of God’s law with rabbinical duties to guide others. The word is – Pharisee.

Nowadays, this word is used and thought of in a slightly different way. If you call for accuracy in biblical preaching you could get called a Pharisee. If you lovingly confront a small group friend concerning their sin, you’re not thanked through tears – you’re called a Pharisee. If you voice concern for dangerous doctrines and the exploitation of those desperate for hope…well, you’ll see.

Recently a special conference was held in our city (Tustin, CA). The promoter promised signs, wonders, and miracles to those who would attend. A big sign was posted on the street and social media sites spread the word. Revival and health for the sick and needy was coming to our little corner of Orange County. Finally! Clever marketing tactics tagged the miracle working men as the “Pep Boys.” Perhaps because they were going give spiritual “tune-ups” to the crowd. Of course, admission was free. Based on some of the video footage from the conference host, the “signs, wonders, and miracles” were in short supply, but unintelligible tongues and bad theology was plentiful.15871887_941119289357321_4192490706401469971_n

Any push back against this tomfoolery could get you labeled. Shining a light on the flagrant lust for phony signs & wonders in today’s church climate could get you a new nickname. Encourage your friends to flee from this gimmickry and caution people about this unbiblical chaos, and you’re going to hear the P-word at some point.

You Pharisee.

Such a jarring indictment is enough to make any bold Christian think twice about opening their mouth concerning any serious issue. Jesus Himself called the over-zealous Pharisees horrible names. Would you ever want to be thought of as one of these?

  • Blind guides (Matthew 23:16)
  • Fools (Matthew 23:17)
  • Serpents (Matthew 23:33)
  • Vipers (Matthew 23:33)
  • Hypocrites (Luke 11:44)

That is one serious list. Obviously this kind of Pharisee is the last thing you ever want to be. Even from the earliest age, churches teach kids about these religious infiltrators with songs like,

“I don’t wanna be a Pharisee (a Pharisee!), I don’t wanna be a Pharisee (a Pharisee!), cause they’re not fair-ya-see? I just wanna be a sheep (ba-ba-ba-ba!).”

Ok so maybe only a few of us still remember that song from Sunday school, but you get the point.

There is one glaring problem with everything I’ve just described. Many people don’t know why Jesus used such harsh words with certain Pharisees. This leads to Christians getting either confused or fearful when called such a horrid term. So what in the world would constitute being called this type of Pharisee in today’s world? Is it being strict about biblical commands? Is it prohibiting the wearing of nail-polish or earrings at church? Is it calling out dangerous teaching? Is it the old guy who yells at the kids for playing drums in their youth worship service?

We need to let the bible speak so we don’t completely miss the point of what disastrous Pharisaic practices truly were.

Here’s what the gospels teach about the kind of things that the wretched Pharisees were doing to garner such harsh responses from Jesus:

  1. They Were Sign Seekers

When the Pharisees asked Jesus to show them a sign He replied, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks after signs…” Then warning His own disciples Jesus cautioned, “Watch out and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees…He did not say to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees” (Matthew 16:1,6,12).

Jesus calls the teachings of the Pharisees “leaven” as an illustration of how it changes bread dough when it’s added in. Similarly, modern day false teachers alter the gospel message with their own ingredients and corrupt it to the core. Signs and wonders is not what Christ came for and never to be our focus. He came to save sinners (Luke 5:32).Kris-Vallotton_large

When modern day churches start to obsess over signs, wonders (and everything in between) to draw an audience, they’re on a slippery slope. If preference is given to sign-seeking healing services over gospel-centered preaching, it is a sign that the wrong kind of Pharisees may be running the show. Further, if the gospel message is said to be powerless without signs and wonders, run from the place that teaches such a thing.

We don’t need more hype about signs and wonders. The pulpit must determine to know nothing among us but Christ crucified and Him raised from the dead.

  1. They Targeted Helpless People

In order to benefit themselves most, certain Pharisees preyed upon those who could defend themselves least. They were notorious for targeting helpless widows so they could benefit from the estate and resources a deceased husband had left to her.

Jesus described these greedy predators in His final public teaching discourse that Mark recorded. He taught, “Beware of the scribes who like to walk around in long robes, and like respectful greetings in the market places, and chief seats in the synagogues, and places of honor at banquets, who devour widows’ houses, and for appearance’s sake offer long prayers; these will receive greater condemnation” (Mark 12:38-40).

These conmen took no prisoners and even broke God’s law to make a buck off of heart-broken widows! The Old Testament commanded that people not overharvest their crops so that widows could benefit from what wasn’t picked the first time. Widows were not even be held to their own pledges (Deuteronomy 24:17-21). God took the care of widows seriously along with those who could not care for themselves – such as orphans.

In these modern times, false teachers take advantage of the lonely, the sick, the weak, and still go after widows much like the predatory Pharisees did. “Christian” leaders who capitalize on the least, last, and lost of our society for their own gain mirror the kind of bottom-feeding behavior that many Pharisees undertook.

  1. They Added to God’s Law

Pharisees enjoyed nothing more than adding their own powerless words, traditions, and methods to God’s basic commands. Where God had given enough instruction for the people’s good, the Pharisees added traditions and precepts that were established by their own ambition. Their agenda was centered on controlling people and making themselves look powerful. In Mark 7:6-9 Jesus calls out the Pharisees for their man-made system:

And He said to them, “Rightly did Isaiah prophecy of you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far away from Me. But in vain do they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.’ Neglecting the commandment of God, you hold to the tradition of men.” He was also saying to them, “You are experts at setting aside the commandment of God in order to keep your tradition.”

Much like the Pharisees of yesterday, false teachers today add to God’s decrees with decrees of their own. They convince people that God has more to say, and He is using them to say it. These modern Pharisees toss aside what God has declared and in preference their own twisted version. As if the completed revelation breathed out by God Himself wasn’t enough (2 Timothy 3:16-17), they seek to elevate their own ideology as equal to God’s revealed word.

One famous mystic who has sold millions upon millions of books opens one of her best-sellers by saying, I knew that God communicated with me through the Bible, but I yearned for more.” This is common place today. Hoards of people yawn over expository preaching from the pages of Scripture, but mystical (possibly even demonic) counterfeits and prophetic conferences draw millions of people who are seeking a “new” word from the Lord. How much more time and money could be spent on spreading the gospel and lives saved from deception if people would accept that God already has spoken?

Reliability is in short supply in many loose theological circles that claim new prophetic words from God. Perhaps going back to the sufficiency of God’s already revealed will in the Scriptures and leaving it at that would solve the insufficiency of old pharisaic habits.

  1. They Added Unlawful Burdens to People

This one carries over from #3 on this list because the “extras” that the Pharisees added to God’s law were things they couldn’t even keep themselves. Hypocrites! For example,  where God set the Sabbath in order for man, the Pharisees created a laundry list of ridiculous additions to define “work” how they saw fit. At one point Jesus looks at an expert of the law and said, “Woe to you lawyers as well! For you weigh men down with burdens hard to bear, while you yourselves will not even touch the burdens with one of your fingers” (Luke 11:46).

Though they appeared to be righteous, the Pharisees were crooked benefactors of a system that burdened the people. image_large

The type of burdens the Pharisees used back then have a modern-day version that burdens Christians in similarly oppressive ways. For example, false teachers convince people that if they want to be healed, they should give money or just “have enough faith.” People are taught that they have to give a certain amount of money to be “blessed”, to get a “breakthrough” at their job or have relief from debt. Further, people are taught that certain men and women are especially anointed so they should give money to them.

These burdens are as powerless as the works-based salvation the Pharisees sold. This spiritual abuse results in confused Christians with deflated faith, and false teachers with inflated wallets. None of that sort of teaching is biblical. Sure, anyone can twist God’s word for capitalistic control over people. The Pharisees did it better than anyone.

  1. They Loved Their Own Honor

Nothing excites a Pharisee more than a system that will honor himself. These leaders love when people elevate them to unbiblical heights. This cultish hierarchy makes the shepherds of God’s people into anointed royal rulers worthy of glory and praise that only God deserves.

In Jesus’ day, the Pharisees sat themselves in the best seats, received immaculate greetings in public, and ensured that everyone noticed how holy and powerful they were.

One day, Jesus gave them an ear full and told them what He thinks about their honor-system.

“Woe to you Pharisees! For you love the chief seats in the synagogues and the respectful greetings in the market places. Woe to you! For you are like concealed tombs, and the people who walk over them are unaware of it” (Luke 11:43-44).

Now there’s a divine indictment. These status seeking Pharisees were caught red-handed by Christ. He saw right through their fancy clothes, front row seats, long bios, and hidden hypocrisy. He knew of their self-indulgent pride, lust for power over people, and desire for possessions. They were like dead corpses lurking unnoticed below and spoiling their unsuspecting victims.

Like those who Jesus rebuked, false teachers in the church world today love to be called humble yet enjoy the spoils of a king. They use a culture of honor to protect themselves from accountability. Protecting the precious people of God is the last thing on their minds. In fact, they are the very wolves attacking the sheep from within the fold. The Pharisees in Jesus’ day were too busy honoring themselves that they missed salvation from the Messiah when it was right in front of them. Today’s Pharisees take on the form of supposed “pastors” who spend a lifetime compiling a pension of riches from their powerless pulpits, only to find their lake front retirement plan is more of a lake of fire one. Christ is not in the building. He was never involved at all (Matthew 7:22-23).

Once we allow the bible to speak on this issue, it’s not so hard to spot a real Pharisee after all is it?

  1. Hello, I am a 72 year old grandmother who has followed excellent teaching for almost 40 years. I received Jesus as my Savior many years ago attending Calvary Chapel in Costa Mesa, CA. Pastor Romaine shared Jesus with me and I accepted. Pastor Chuck Smith was my first Bible teacher…aside from a devout Mother and Grandmother growing up in Florida where I was raised. I have had excellent teaching. This article you have written is by far the best I have seen to date about the false teachers amongst us today. Boy was I shocked to type in this sentence and find out a little booklet I just got from a friend is actually something I need to be wary about…” “ I knew that God communicated with me through the Bible, but I yearned for more .”…Sarah Young, “Jesus Calling.”

Should I actually stop reading this booklet and its daily devotionals? I will but I am getting a lot of comfort reading it. I just got this loaned to me four days ago. I have been sharing some of the daily devotionals with my granddaughter, Caitlin. Caitlin is deeply involved with her dad, my oldest son (who is a pastor), with Bethel Church in Redding CA. Caitlin is also a senior at Liberty University in Virginia this year, graduating this June.

I do not want to be sharing anything or believing anything false teachers who promote their own doctrine. This is in abundance in the church today. I am amazed.

The church I attend now, West Hill Church in Auburn, Washington, has a pastor who teaches the gospel of Jesus Christ and believes the way you are speaking here in your article. I have shared this article with him today along with my granddaughter Caitlin. I also shared it with the two friends who read “Jesus Calling.” These two both were members of the World Wide Church of God, which is based in Pasadena, CA. They both say they are no long affiliated with that church and that church has both changed it’s direction and it’s name. Hmmmmmm.

So, tell me. What do you think about me reading “Jesus Calling.” Should I be suspect of the woman writing it?

    Thank you for your input.

    Proverbs 3:5-8 (my life’s Scriptures)

    1. Dear Sarah,

First of all, thank you for your sincere response. It’s clear that you are a woman of discernment who desires to walk in truth. Praise God for your 40 years of faithfulness to the Lord!

Here are my responses to your questions and comments:

      1) Your church – West Hill Church in Auburn,WA – is clear in their doctrinal statement that they believe and teach the Bible as inerrant, sufficient, and authoritative. I noticed they also make a clear distinction that they believe all additional written revelation ceased with the completion of the New Testament. You’re in good hands my sister. Those are faithful under-shepherds who are committed to Scripture.

      2) Since you asked me directly, I would submit to you that Jesus Calling, along with Sarah Young’s other related works, are a divergent imitation of God’s revelation and a useful tool by our adversary to lead people into false ideologies and false assurance. These writings are not sufficient, authoritative, or even biblically edifying for believers. While her prose may cause many readers to “feel good”, she cannot be trusted because she has falsely claimed to speak for God and been found wanting. There is plenty of poetic encouragement to be found in the Psalms, as well as wonderful devotionals written by trustworthy authors.

      3) Recommended Resources: Tim Challies has written an excellent piece on Jesus Calling with well-researched evidence:

      4) Please email us your address so we can send you a few devotional options by trusted pastors and bible teachers. You can reach me directly at

Thank you for reaching out Sarah.

      1. Thank you for this! I’ve been reading the same devotional for years and I had NO idea this was mystical. It’s scary to see how easily this stuff can creep in. I appreciate your posts and information about it all.

      2. Youve got to be kidding right? When you speak of this ladys church being good teachers Just because their docturnal statement says the right things? How many false teachers web sites say the right things up front..

They have articles on Sarah Young’s Jesus Calling book as well as other books Sarah Young has written. This is deception, deception, deception. Many people and many churches are saying ” ok ” about reading these books and it’s sad. Warren Smith on lighthousetrailsresearch has clearly laid out the warnings about Sarah Young’s books.

  2. Pharisees and False Teachers: A Modern Day Look at the Crooks Christ Couldn’t Stand
I disagree that there was anyone Christ couldn’t stand. Yes He openly corrected the Pharisees, He condemned their actions; but I find it impossible to accept that He hated them.
I therefore feel that the title should be reworded. This title shouldn’t contradict the character of Jesus Who loves the sinner, but hates the sin.

  3. Thank you for writing these articles I’m 16 and I enjoy these articles you been typing up it’s insightful and it gives the reader knowledge.Me and my big brother have been going to Mission Bible Church for two weeks and I can say I can call this place my new home church.Thank you and God bless!

  4. Just thought I might add this from a Jewish perspective:
Pharisee: A sect most likely started after the Jewish exile. In addition to OT books the Pharisees recognized in oral tradition a standard of belief and life. They sought for distinction and praise by outward observance of external rites and by outward forms of piety, and such as ceremonial washing, fasting, prayers, and alms giving; and, comparatively negligent of genuine piety, they prided themselves on their fancied good works. They held strenuously to a belief in the existence of good and evil angels, and to the expectation of a Messiah; and they cherished the hope that the dead, after a preliminary experience either of reward or of penalty in Hades, would be recalled to life by him, and be requited each according to his individual deeds. In opposition to the usurped dominion of the Herods and the rule of the Romans, they stoutly upheld the theocracy and their country’s cause, and possessed great influence with the common people. According to Josephus they numbered more than 6000. They were bitter enemies of Jesus and his cause; and were in turn severely rebuked by him for their avarice, ambition, hollow reliance on outward works, and affection of piety in order to gain popularity. Parash is the generally accepted Hebrew origin of Pharisee which means “Distinct”, “Separate”, “Declare” or “Distinguish” which is what this Religious group certainly did with the Rabbinical law of Moses. They could not or would not grasp the new covenant message of Jesus Christ, not would they worship Him as their Messiah whereby the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth has been postponed until the second coming – which is very different than the rapture. Interesting is that the word parash in Hebrew is spelled with the letters Pey – Resh – Shin which symbolically represents “The mouth of man destroys”. This was certainly true of the Pharisee mentioned in the new testament.

Sadducees are another, even darker sect even though the word translates to – “the righteous” Just remember there are the self righteous who claim righteousness through their own works which has nothing to do with righteousness by faith which is the true will of God and the works men must do for God – believe in the One who He sent. This was a religious party at the time of Christ among the Jews, who denied that the oral law was a revelation of God to the Israelites, and who deemed the written law alone to be obligatory on the nation, as the divine authority. They denied the following doctrines:
    resurrection of the body
    immortality of the soul
    existence of spirits and angels
    divine predestination, affirmed free will
The word Sadducee, like Pharisee appears in the new testament and has it’s origin in the Hebrew word Tsadowq (Zadok) meaning just as in justice. The word was used more for those that passed judgement like a judge that we know of today. The symbolism of the word would suggest “Fallen man on the wrong path left behind”. So certainly those that reject Jesus as Messiah and Savior would not inherit the Kingdom of Heaven.

However, its not just about the advantage of people, but teaching the wrong doctrine. Like these two groups who admittedly knew the Law intimately, they had no relationship with the Father – and they only way to have that relationship with Father Abba is through the Son, Jesus Christ. If you reject the Son then you have rejected the Father. This can be more subtle than you think. Ministers, Pastors, Priests and Rabbi’s who place demand on their congregation for self justification rather than justification by faith have placed these people under the curse of the law and are no better than the Pharisee or the Sadducee. We can readily see certain modern day mega pastors who prey on their congregation and pervert the Gospel – but its the subtle twists – the smallest leaven that flattens the loaf. How many times have you heard – love God with all your heart and soul? Sounds good – sounds like something we should do – and if we don’t: how many times have you heard that you could lose your blessings or if you sin you are not loving God with all your heart? This is the subtle self effort and self works rather than justification by faith. Think about when your children are born – do they love you? No – they have no mental capacity to love or not love – but you love them more than anything you have ever loved before and as you love them they grow to love you (speaking Family – in God) Their love for you is a fruit produced by your love for them and not a demand from you that they love you – I charge anyone to go and demand love and see what you get – I bet its not love – it may be feigned love out of fear – but not love. Your Heavenly Father is the same – He loved you before the foundation of the World – think about that – thousands of years before you were born – God loved you. Even after you were born – before you heard of Him – before you accepted His Son, He love you. You began to hear His word – His seed the Gospel. It began to resonate with you and you began to trust more and more in His word and the love for God and His Son grew in you just as your own children grew to love you. Tell me what better feeling in the world than to have your child or grandchild run up and hug you and tell you they love you – for no reason – just because you loved them – That is God’s love for you and its not based on your love first. God loved you so much that He gave up His Son in your place so that you would live. But it goes beyond love – it has to do with repentance – Are you told to repent after you sin? Dont you know you have the blood of Jesus – the perfect sacrifice that washes away your sin – even in your darkest moment – your sins are cleansed by the blood and your Father sees you as righteous – by faith not by works. Put on the full armor of God and stand – STAND – do nothing – and let God fight your battles. There is no battlefield of the mind as Joyce Meyers would have you believe because your thoughts are pure to God – why – because you are righteous by faith – and the blood of Jesus washes you – His crown of thorns tormented His mind so that yours would no longer be tormented. What should you confess – your sins?? Your Father has promised to remember them no more – is the blood of the sacrifice – Jesus Christ – only good from sin to sin or was He the perfect sacrifice to take away (not atone) your sins forever. Satan would have you believe it is only from sin to sin and keep you conscious of your sins and make you feel guilty, ashamed and unworthy – but your Heavenly Father through Faith in Jesus Christ commands you to boldly come to the throne – because you are righteous by faith and you are heir to the Kingdom of Heaven – bride to the Bridegroom, Jesus.
Sadly its not the overt perversion that we miss – its the covert – the subtle lie that keeps you under the law of self effort. We find the results of self effort as early as Genesis where Cain and Able are offering their sacrifices to the Lord. Able offers the blood of the innocent lamb, whilst Cain offers the fruits of his own self efforts. God accepts Able’s sacrifice but does not accept Cains. The result leads to jealousy sparked by Satan and Cain kills Able. The truth is – self works is a dark path that many preach today and it is anti-christian and the message of the anti-christ who would blind the entire world to believe that we must work to gain God’s favor rather than be justified by faith – that Christ Jesus stood in the gap for us and that their is nothing that we have to do other than have faith in Him who He sent, rest and partake of His blessings. The Gospel means news to good to be true – and many fall victim thinking that it is too good and we must do something – but the Gospel tells you plainly that it has been done for you.

    1. What you have written gives me new hope. I have been so confused why so many Jews reject Jesus as The Messiah. I’m thrilled toread and to know tthat not all Jews believe that. Where will they go for all eternity I wonder as well. I would think hell tragically as anyone else that doesn’t accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. May God Bless you richly Rabbi Arnn!!

      1. Mark,
Thank you. Sadly many of my Jewish brothers and sisters may perish into the pits of hell because many continue to reject Jesus as Messiah, King of Kings, King of Israel, and heir to the throne through the rightful lineage of King David. When the temple was destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD the Hebrew nation could no longer offer the blood of bulls and goats to atone for their sin – God had given them a time to reconcile this on their own after the crucifixion of Jesus. However, the Levitical priests persisted and were eventually corrected by God who was offended that the Jews offered an inferior sacrifice rather than rely on the sacrifice of His Son. In 90 AD a group of Rabbi held the Council at Yavneh to discuss the future of the Jewish faith after the destruction of the temple and without animal sacrifice. Some of the members were Pharisee who had plotted the death of Jesus. It is amazing to me the wisdom of God in that these men premeditated the capture, trail and crucifixion of Jesus, yet at the cross Jesus prayed to God to forgive them because they knew not what they do. So in His mercy Jesus asked God for their forgiveness in what man would call a willful sin.
There are 3 types in the bible – The Jew, the Gentile and the Believer. The Jews are the chosen people of God, yet they have rejected their Messiah and the Kingdom of Heaven (the literal kingdom on earth) has been placed on hold until the second coming of Christ Jesus. This started the Church age and the Age of Gentiles – the Age of Gentiles will continue until the second coming where the stone carved from the mountain without human hands (clearly this is Jesus) will come and destroy the ten toes of clay (Read Daniel), The ten toes of clay represent the 10 Gentile Kingdoms on earth that will be destroyed by Jesus when He becomes the King of Kings and takes the throne in Jerusalem. The Gentiles are those non Jews who rejected Christ as Savior – they have no High Priest intercessor between them and God. Then the believer – these are Jews and Gentiles who have accepted and have faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior. There is hope for the Jewish Nation because the Gospel tells us that all of Israel will be saved in one night – however that salvation is for those Jews at that time. Others who lived and died before that time had their chance to accept Jesus as Messiah and did not – for them, I fear they will be judged by God. There is more good news in Revelation, that there will be Jews who resist and unfortunately will have their heads removed by execution but will inherit eternal life in the Kingdom of Heaven. Revelation speaks of Jews who are granted positions of authority based on their works in the Kingdom – this is not to be confused with the role of the church which is comprised of believers. The church will return with Jesus as the bride – regal – the Queen to the King and will sit in authority with Jesus not subject to Jesus even though we submit to Jesus as a wife submits to her husband under God. So there is hope, the confident expectation of a thing done or promised by God, not only for the Jew but also for the Gentile who will have the opportunity for salvation during the tribulation. It will be difficult during the time of the tribulation to accept Jesus as Messiah and Savior but some will and they will be saved. For the church this means the rapture before the tribulation and 7 years in Heaven before our return with Jesus. The Saints of the OT will be raised, as will the dead in Christ – it will be amazing – beyond imagination. So as the world grows darker the believer should rejoice that the second coming – the Day of the Lord is at hand. No matter how hard we try, we will not save the world – but during the time we have we can spread the Gospel and have faith that Jesus will save as many as He can.

        Amen, God bless,

  5. One correction to my post: The earliest example of self effort – righteous by works – or self works – which are all synonymous, was when Adam fashioned clothing out of fig leaves to hide the shame and guilt of having disobeyed God by partaking from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Adam’s efforts did not meet the standard of God’s holiness – which is true of us today – whether you want to admit it or not, the bible tells us that our best is like a dirty rag to God – that is why, when the Jews who stood at Mount Sinai proclaimed boastfully that whatever God asked of them they could do – although it may sound noble – the former Hebrew slaves were relying on their efforts to meet Gods will – not faith in God. Even after God freed them from bondage in Egypt – had given them the riches of their captors – had kept them covered during the heat of the day – kept them warm at night – fed them with manna from heaven – gave them drink – and none of this was through any effort on their part – it was all from God. One note: Even though these children of God murmured and complained, God still provided. This proves that even if your heart isn’t in the right place, you’re frustrated, or angry, unhappy, uncomfortable and not grateful for what you have – God will still provide for you. Let’s get back to Adam and Eve: Adam tried to hide their shame with fig leaves, but as I said, this did not meet the Holiness of God – so God in His mercy and grace sacrificed the first innocent blood to atone for man’s sin and covered man in the slain animals skin. This was the first sacrifice – the first atonement for sin and it was done by God for man. It seems only right to say “I’m sorry” to God when you sin – but God loved you so that He sent the perfect sacrifice to say “I’m sorry” for you at the cross. God is not demanding that you are on your knees begging for forgiveness and sin conscious the rest of your life – He placed all the punishment on Jesus at the cross for all the sin you will commit for the rest of your life. Your confession is that you are the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ – this is the work God would have you do – the only work – to have faith – to trust in Him who He sent – the I AM. To claim your righteousness even in your darkest moment – when He is right there with you ready to carry you back to the rest of flock. When you believe – God sees you as obedient which is no longer a demand of a fulfilled law but a fruit of your faith. Your belief and your faith – even as small as a mustard seed – will connect your branch to the vine and the fruit of good works will be produced in you that is not of your own strength but that of God Almighty – El Shaddai – who wants you to call out to Him as Abba – Abba (Father -Father). If you really knew who you were in Jesus and what you meant to God – you would not listen to anyone who told you you had to work for your salvation or save yourself through your own works – because you already know that your Father in Heaven had a plan for you from the very beginning and all you had to do was receive it.

    Kind regards,

    1. He placed all the punishment on Jesus at the cross for all the sin you will commit for the rest of your life.

So if a christian murders you feel Jesus died for that? Did not the roman soldiers get a bye – forgive them father for they know not what they do.. they knew they were killing Jesus yet they werent saved… once saved then Jesus would not be saying to forgive them they know Not what they do…

  6. Amen ! Jesus paid the sin debt at the Cross and He said ” it is finished ”
Salvation is a free gift for ALL who accept Him as their Lord and Savior and believe in Him( His death, burial and resurrection )
He is the Alpha, Omega, the Beginning and the End.
He is my Lord and Savior and soon coming King. And through the storms in my life, I still praise Him because He is so worthy to be praised. Glory to God. His mercies are new every single morning.

  7. Hi! Thank you for all the wonderful articles and resources. Very helpful! Are you guys familiar of Becky Fisher, founder of Kids in Ministry International and Jesus Camp. Kids are being targeted and as a kids Sunday school teacher myself, it really breaks my heart to see kids and parents being deceived. And now this organization has arrived and now operates here in our country and other southeast asian countries. I haven’t seen much articles on the internet or videos on youtube exposing her and her super wrong teachings. If you could also make an article or video or whatever to expose her and her false doctrines, it would be very helpful especially to parents and to those who teach kids. Thank you thank you so muc!

Here is a disturbing video in youtube of Becky Fisher teaching kids how to raise the dead.

  8. John Arnn what is your view of 1Jn1v9 where it is taught that Christians should confess their sins in order to be forgiven i.e. if they don’t confess then they remain unforgiving?(most Christians seem to think they must download forgiveness by repentance before God will forgive)Are the future sins we are going to commit already forgiven? If they already are then why the need to confess them?

How can a unbeliever be Your brother? Since Christ is what makes us brothers…..
